Select text straight from screenshots. Switch between Fast and Best, download the offline engine only when needed, and get word-level confidence for Chinese and English.

paste

Paste back to the original app

Select an item and press Enter. iPaste writes it to the system clipboard and triggers paste so the content returns to the window you were using. It does more than copy: it sends it back.

When enabled, multiple copies within a time window are appended into one block so scattered bits can be pasted all at once.

Signature feature

Text inside screenshots, ready to select

iPaste includes a dual-mode image OCR system: use Fast for daily work and switch to Best when precision matters. The offline engine runs locally, downloads on demand (about 37 MB), supports mixed Chinese and English, and returns word coordinates with confidence.

  • Two modesFast / Best lets you trade speed and accuracy by context.
  • Offline recognitionThe engine runs locally, so images stay on your machine.

How it works

From copy to reuse, only the necessary moves

01

Capture

Copy as usual. iPaste quietly catches text, links, colors, and images from the tray.

02

Find

⌘⇧V opens the panel, arrow keys move through items, and ⌘F searches any bit of history in seconds.

03

Send back

Press Enter and the content returns to the app you were using. The panel steps away and your flow continues.

Local-first

Your clipboard is private, so offline works by default

History and categories live in local SQLite and keep working without the network. Automatically captured history never goes to the cloud; only categories you explicitly save can sync after you turn it on.

History stays local

Clipboard history captured in the background stays on your device and never leaves it.

Optional cloud sync

Only saved categories sync, while images and files do not. Add your self-hosted server URL and key, then test the connection with one click.

Fully usable offline

Capture, search, categorize, paste, and OCR all happen locally with no online account required.

One habit, both platforms

Native support for Windows and macOS, including Intel and Apple Silicon, with consistent interactions and shortcuts.

Light enough to disappear

Built with Tauri, the installer is only about 4.7-10 MB. It lives in the tray, starts fast, and barely touches resources.

Always up to date

A built-in update channel prepares new versions quietly and lets you upgrade in one click.

Questions

A few common questions

Is iPaste paid?

No. You can download it free from the GitHub releases page, with open updates.

Where is my clipboard data stored?

History and categories are stored in local SQLite on your machine. Automatically captured history never goes to the cloud; only categories you explicitly save can sync after you enable it, and images and files are excluded.

Which systems are supported?

Windows x64, plus macOS on Apple Silicon and Intel. The installer is built with Tauri and is only a few megabytes.

How do I use image OCR?

Choose an OCR mode in settings (Fast / Best) and download the offline engine on demand (about 37 MB). Then you can recognize and select text from image items, including mixed Chinese and English.

Will it upload my clipboard?

No. iPaste is local-first and fully usable offline. Cloud sync is optional and limited to categories you save yourself, using your own server URL and key.

How do I update?

iPaste has a built-in update channel that prompts when a new version is available and upgrades in one click. You can also return to this page or GitHub releases to download manually.
