Select and copy text from screenshots. Windows uses downloadable PaddleOCR models; macOS uses built-in system recognition. Your images stay on your device.

Select an item and press Enter. iPaste writes it to the system clipboard and triggers paste so the content returns to the window you were using. It does more than copy: it sends it back.

Keep favorites at the top

Right-click an item in history or a saved category to pin it. Pin status and order stay after restarting. Pinned history is kept when older items expire; unpin it whenever you like.

Extract text from images without uploading them. On Windows, choose Speed first for clear screenshots or Accuracy first for complex images. macOS uses built-in system recognition.

Capture

Copy as usual. iPaste quietly catches text, links, colors, and images from the tray.

Find

Open with ⌘⇧V / Ctrl+Shift+V, move between items with the arrow keys, and focus search with ⌘F / Ctrl+F.

Send back

Press Enter and the content returns to the app you were using. The panel steps away and your flow continues.

Local-first

Your clipboard is private, so offline works by default

History and categories live in local SQLite and keep working without the network. Automatically captured history never goes to the cloud; only categories you explicitly save can sync after you turn it on.

A few common questions

Is iPaste paid?

No. You can download it free from the GitHub releases page, with open updates.

Where is my clipboard data stored?

History and categories are stored in local SQLite on your machine. Automatically captured history never goes to the cloud; only categories you explicitly save can sync after you enable it, and images and files are excluded.

Which systems are supported?

Windows x64 and macOS on Apple Silicon or Intel. Windows needs WebView2 Runtime if it is not installed. On macOS, grant Accessibility permission to paste back into other apps.

How do I use image OCR?

On Windows, open Settings → Image OCR and download Speed first (PP-OCRv6 Tiny, 6.9 MB) or Accuracy first (PP-OCRv6 Small, 31.8 MB). Then recognize text in an image preview. Settings shows download progress and provides verification, repair and removal controls; missing or damaged models link directly to these settings. Recognition works offline after download. macOS uses built-in recognition with no extra model download.

Will it upload my clipboard?

No. iPaste is local-first and fully usable offline. Cloud sync is optional and limited to categories you save yourself, using your own server URL and key.

How do I update?

iPaste notifies you about new versions. Read the release notes, start the update, and restart when prompted. You can also download the latest installer from this page or GitHub Releases.
